Executive Director
Peter Hominuk has many years of experience in community development. Upon completing his studies, he became a development worker at Direction Jeunesse, a provincial francophone organization, and later became the organization’s Executive Director. During this time, Peter played an instrumental role in the creation of the “Mondial de l’entrepreneuriat jeunesse,” an international conference for young entrepreneurs with a budget of $1.5 million that ultimately generated $776 million in contracts.
Peter then worked for a provincial francophone TV network called TFO. As a community relations agent and strategic planner, one of his responsibilities was to sell the TFO station to cable and satellite providers across the country. Some of his accomplishments include a $1.1 million federal grant, and another grant valued at $3 million per year for the duration of 5 years.
In 2000, Peter accepted the job of Executive Director at Clé d’la Baie in Huronia. When he arrived, he was in charge of six employees and a budget of $500,000. When he left Clé d’la Baie, the organization had 60 employees and a budget of $2.7 million in various sectors.
In 2012, Peter accepted a new professional challenge when he became the Executive Director of the Assemblée de la francophonie de l’Ontario. In this leadership position, Peter was able to utilize his excellent management skills to strengthen the AFO. He also made use of his business sense to implement new developmental strategies to benefit the organization and its network.
Over the years, Peter has demonstrated his skills in strategic planning, project and human resource management, event organization and promotion, advocacy on behalf of francophones in minority situations, and general economic development in his community.
